More news, man it just keeps coming!

Just finished some legal trouble I had, still got some stuff to do with that, I’m kinda not supposed to talk about it but suffice it to say I got in a fist fight.
I quit my job about a month ago and started receiving a nice check from the government in the form of Montgomery GI Bill so my finances are pretty well covered. However, it kinda makes the content of this site have to change or at minimum get a new focus, if not shutdown completely. I don’t want to shut down so I’m going to be looking at other ways to be creative and still keep somewhat the same concepts going. Not like there is a shortage of idiots out there.
I’m going to be upgrading to newest version of WordPress because I’m a slacker and haven’t been doing that, and also will be looking at making another site for personal use.
All in all, it’s going to be a busy weekend.

Update, my life.

I enrolled in college here this last couple of weeks and have been running around trying to get everything in order with my V.A. benefits and Montgomery G.I. bill stuffs. I’ve had one teacher decide he wasn’t going to show up for his class or tell anyone else that the class had been canceled all together then he himself schedule me for a different class and then not show up because he had an appointment nor tell me the class he just scheduled me for would be not happening on Thursday.
Not really impressed with him in the professionalism department, however he does appear to know his stuff.
Couple of classes I’ve been in I’ve really enjoyed. Introduction to Operating systems I thought I was going to have to sleep through.
“This is the Start button!” No nothing like that, they are even being true to the plural title in the class and teaching some basic Linux usage along side it all.
All in all everything is going pretty good, I’ve been busy as get all but when have I not been in the last year.

Hey!
Charles has been pretty busy lately, he’s doing some work for a doctor that was a rush job. Guy came in said “I need cables ran, Dell _____ Server, this software configured, installed, 7 client systems, VPN, Email setup, and training for my staff.” At first Charles laughed and said no problem. Then the doctors said “2 weeks” and Charles surveyed his surroundings, all the work he had to do besides this project, and his already active duties maintaining his current customers. Then this doctor started waving around barely sub 5 digit figures around.
“I can do it” $_$
So, for the last bit or so, Charles has been pretty busy.
However some interesting things have occured, remember our gentleman from Charles’ last post? His wife finally emailed Charles. I think I will share it with you, ehem.

I wanted to thank you for bringing my husbands actions to my attention. I had known that he had a porn problem in the past but did not know it was current or how bad it was. We’ve seeked professional help and I believe we will make it through this. You forced him to face his shame and that was a great step into recovery. [Blah Blah Blah, didn’t have to be a jerk about it though, blah blah blah]

About 2 days before this email arrived Charles’ mail box was seeing less and less flaming, screaming, pissed off emails from JJ Simpson, I personally hope the best for him but Charles has a different message “Fuck him!”, though I surely hope he doesn’t mean the literal way.

Taking the plunge

I’m going to be switching to all out Linux system here in the next couple of days.
What brought about this whole idea for change? I’ve decided to quit playing World of Warcraft. That’s right the only reason I’ve left a windows install on my personal computer is because I couldn’t get away from DirectX without paying extra $$.
I’ve been dual booting Fedora Core and Windows XP for the last year and was thinking of simply making the change over into (K)ubuntu (I’m not sure weather I like gnome or KDE better, I’m told KDE is raped in Fedora Core though)
So if you don’t hear from me in the next couple days you know why, I’m to busy having fun with my new toys.

Valid XHTML 1.1

I just spent about 2 hours recoding wordpress and some of it’s attributes for picture alignments. Also loved the fact that the tool who made this template added the VALID XHTML 1.1 link but had all kinds of screwy invalid XHTML attributes like allign=”right” bottom=”0″ etc.
Wordpress also fucks this up by adding align=”blah” to picture alignment instead of stuff like style=”float:right”.
I added javascript that looked at the rel tag in hyperlinks to look for rel=”external” so I don’t have to use target=”_blank” to make a link pop up in a new window (w3c doesn’t like target =”_blank” apparantly. But wordpress uses it.)
I’m working on a wordpress hack to add rel=”external” to the link editer in wordpress so my sidebar links will open up in new windows.
If you know of one let me know, no sense in reinventing the wheel.
All and all I learned a few things, like how to add space between your pictures and your text using the style attribute. margins, who knew?.

Nice little night of learning, googling, and hacking up wordpress.
Edit: Also removed the rel=”nofollow” bullshit. Sorry “nofollow” was something stupid google came up with, I tend to deitize google but that was a stupid idea guys.
